HONORING Jillian Wagner upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jillian
Wagner upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Senior
Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated
at its Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at
Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and

WHEREAS, Jillian Wagner has distinguished herself as a young woman
of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Warwick Valley High School, in Warwick, New
York, Jillian Wagner plans to major in Audio Engineering and Fine Art as
she continues her education in the fall of 2017; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career Jillian Wagner has been
an active member and President of the Art Club for the past four years;
she also has participated in the chair auction for three consecutive
years; and

WHEREAS, Jillian Wagner's artwork has been recognized and displayed
at SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Orange, Student Expo at the Galleria Mall and
Warwick's Annual District Art Show; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Jillian Wagner studies at the Warwick School
of Music and plays guitar in an all-girl alternative band, Conspiracy,
and has performed in places such as the Vernon Inn and Pine Island
Jazzfest, as well as numerous other venues in Orange County; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Jillian
Wagner has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Jillian Wagner may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Jillian Wagner represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jillian Wagner upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and
to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jillian Wagner.
