HONORING Dale Robie upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the New York State
Advisor of the Year Award by Skills USA

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of the State of New York to honor and
recognize those dedicated individuals, who strive to enhance the quality
of education for our students, and whose accomplishments, character and
community commitment inspire all citizens of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dale Robie upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the New
York State Advisor of the Year Award by Skills USA; and

WHEREAS, Skills USA is an organization which promotes career and
technical education to students all across New York State; each year, it
presents the Advisor of the Year Award to an individual who has achieved
prominence at local, state or national levels; and

WHEREAS, Dale Robie is the Digital Media Arts Teacher at GST BOCES
Coopers Campus, Lead Advisor of Skills USA for GST BOCES Coopers Campus
and a teacher at a summer camp program to younger students interested in
Digital Media Arts; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure at Skills USA, Dale Robie has educated
students not just academically, but about life lessons such as
responsibility, team work and hard work; and

WHEREAS, For his numerous years of dedicated service to his
profession, Dale Robie was named the Area 1 Advisor of the Year, and
received the BOCES Excellence Award in both 1994 and 2006; and

WHEREAS, In addition, his students have been asked to present to its
Board of Directors on what Skills USA is about and why it is an integral
part of its programs; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Dale Robie assists the local
Steuben County Sheriff's Office in editing a collection of videos; in
addition, he has been instrumental in fighting for victims of violent
crimes and continues to do so; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dale Robie upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the New York State Advisor of the Year Award by Skills USA; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dale Robie.
