CONGRATULATING Helen May Dorman Clarke upon the
occasion of celebrating her 102nd Birthday
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great
Nation and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 102nd Birthday of Helen May Dorman Clarke; and
WHEREAS, Helen Clarke was born on April 13, 1915, in Canaan,
Vermont, to parents Thomas Edward and Rosa Gosselin Dorman; she attended
Canaan High School and furthered her education by attending the
Ogdensburg Business School; and
WHEREAS, Helen Clarke was a Typist, Stenographer and Secretary for
51 years, before retiring in 1983; and
WHEREAS, Helen Clarke married John James Clarke, Jr., and together
they are the loving parents of their two children John and Patricia;
they have been further blessed with seven grandchildren, Stephan,
Timothy, Brian, Kevin, Elisa, Kimberly, and Michael; six
great-grandchildren, Patrick, Lindsay, Heather, William, Abigail, and
Ella; and three great-great-grandchildren, Nolan, Declan, and Phillip;
and
WHEREAS, Helen Clarke's favorite pastimes include playing Bridge,
sewing, and walking; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a
remarkable age and who have witnessed and celebrated the outstanding
innovations, cultural developments, and awesome achievements of this
Country during the last century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Helen May Dorman Clarke upon the occasion of celebrating
her 102nd Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Helen May Dorman Clarke.
