HONORING Mollie Engle upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mollie Engle
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Mollie Engle has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Roscoe Central School, Mollie Engle has a
96.13 GPA; she is the salutatorian of her class, and has been named to
the superintendent's honor roll; and

WHEREAS, Mollie Engle is a member of the National Honor Society,
Student Government, and the yearbook staff; she is also an active
participant in school musicals, and plays an instrument in the band; and

WHEREAS, Mollie Engle is also a member of the soccer, basketball,
golf, and track teams, where she holds the title of captain; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Mollie Engle gives tirelessly
of her time and energies to volunteering for the Neversink Family Fun
Days, Crop Walk, and blood and food drives; she also serves as a tutor
for her fellow students; and

WHEREAS, Mollie Engle plans to major in nursing at LeMoyne College
this fall; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Mollie Engle
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Mollie Engle may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Mollie Engle represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor

this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mollie Engle upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mollie Engle.
