HONORING Jake Stanzl upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jake Stanzl
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jake Stanzl has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Middletown High School, Jake Stanzl has a
95.75 GPA; he is a member of the Interact Club, and both the football
and baseball team, where he holds the title of captain; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Jake Stanzl gives tirelessly of
his time and energies volunteering at basketball camp, the ASK Outdoor
Learning Center, YMCA, and the Salvation Army; he also works at the Tom
Chuckran Memorial Breakfast; and

WHEREAS, Jake Stanzl plans to major in business at college this
fall; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Jake Stanzl
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Jake Stanzl may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and

WHEREAS, Jake Stanzl represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jake Stanzl upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as

a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jake Stanzl.
