HONORING Sarah Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sarah
Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017
Senior Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a
Breakfast on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House,
Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Sarah Wierzbicki has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at S.S Seward Institute, Sarah Wierzbicki is
ranked fourth in her class with a 97.42 GPA; she is a member of the
National Honor Society, Student Council, and the Art Club; she is also
the Vice President of Select Choir and President of the Music Club; and

WHEREAS, In addition, she is a member of both the soccer team and
the basketball team, and captain of the softball team which was ranked
fourth-team All-State; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Sarah Wierzbicki gives
tirelessly of her time and energies to volunteering with Hailey's Hope
Charity Walk, and serves as a peer tutor and a teacher's assistant; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Sarah
Wierzbicki has brought honor to her family, school, and community; she
plans to attend college and major in biology; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sarah Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her designation for special

recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sarah Wierzbicki.
