COMMENDING Mary Lyng upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition after 60 years
of dedicated service to the Lowville Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate
their lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Mary Lyng
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition after 60
years of dedicated service to the Lowville Fire Department Ladies
Auxiliary, celebrated at its Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April
22, 2017 at the Lowville Volunteer Fire Department in Lowville, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Members of ladies auxiliary groups from across the State of
New York work tirelessly to provide support to our fire departments and
to aid our volunteer firefighters in many capacities; and
WHEREAS, Mary Lyng has been a member of the Lowville Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary since its inception in 1957; and
WHEREAS, The members of this worthy organization provide nourishment
to firefighters during emergency incidents, and are always ready to
support and fulfill the needs of the fire department; Mary Lyng is one
such individual; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Mary Lyng, that future generations may know and appreciate her admirable
character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and esteem in
which she is held by her peers; and
WHEREAS, Mary Lyng is deserving of the highest commendation of this
Legislative Body for her commitment to the Lowville Fire Department, as
she has helped to advance the perception of her community as a caring
and united community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mary Lyng upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after 60 years of dedicated service to the Lowville Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Lyng.
