COMMEMORATING the 70th Anniversary of the
Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park, in conjunction
with First Responder Appreciation Day for Saratoga
County

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality
and character of life of the citizens of New York State are greatly
enriched by the availability of exceptional recreational organizations
which have become an important part of the history of our State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton
Park, in conjunction with First Responder Appreciation Day; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious event will be celebrated on Sunday,
September 17, 2017, at the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park during the
Town of Clifton Park's Farmfest weekend; residents and visitors will
have the opportunity to honor their first responders and military
personnel, and view displays featuring Saratoga County Veteran's Service
Agency, the New York State Police, the Sheriff's Department, military
personnel, and local fire departments; and

WHEREAS, The men and women who serve as law enforcement officers,
firefighters and emergency medical services personnel, our first
responders, are worthy of recognition for their courage, heroism and
concern for the welfare of the communities they serve regardless of
peril or injury to themselves; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1947, the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park is a
non-profit organization located on 62 acres of woodlands and fields in
Clifton Park, New York; for 70 years, the Club has been serving its area
sportsmen; and

WHEREAS, The Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park features many
activities for its members including archer 3D shoots, Archery Day Out,
archery leagues, Bullseye, CMP shoot, steel shoots, trap shoots, and
Well-Armed Woman; and

WHEREAS, In addition, shooting enthusiasts can test their skills and
practice their shot on several ranges such as archery, multi-purpose,
pistol, plinking, rifle-200, and trap; and

WHEREAS, In recognition of the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park's
rich history and enduring contribution to the State of New York, this
Legislative Body is proud to pay tribute to this spirited sportsmen's
club upon the occasion of its 70th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton
Park, in conjunction with First Responder Appreciation Day; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park.
