HONORING Project Coordinator Tolani Elumade upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Community Service Award by the New York City
Correction Guardians
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who devote themselves to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York, there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Project Coordinator Tolani Elumade upon the occasion of her designation
as recipient of the Community Service Award by the New York City
Correction Guardians; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion will be celebrated at its Annual
Scholarship Awards Dinner Dance on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the
Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Correction Guardians Association, Inc. is a fraternal
organization comprised of African-American Uniformed and Civilian
employees of the New York City Department of Correction; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary organization is dedicated to the protection
of human rights, progress, social betterment and the consideration of
the individual and collective problems of its members and their
presentations to the proper authority; and
WHEREAS, Its mission is to provide a strong African-American forum
for the purpose of resolving any bias, unethical or discriminatory
treatment and to offer guidance to its members with mentorship,
networking and training that will enhance members' knowledge and
professionalism and to provide positive role models for the Department,
its families and its communities; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate to recognize and commend such outstanding
correction officers as Tolani Elumade for their valued contributions to
the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Project Coordinator Tolani Elumade upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Community Service Award by the New York
City Correction Guardians; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Project Coordinator Tolani Elumade.
