COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of the Lake
George RV Park

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that the quality
of life of the citizens of New York State is greatly enriched by its
exceptional cultural, educational and recreational facilities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Lake George RV Park in Lake
George, New York; and

WHEREAS, Campers come from all over the country to visit Lake
George, known as the Queen of American Lakes, and as one of the cleanest
and clearest lakes in the nation; it provides a pristine venue for
outdoor recreation and promotes good, healthy living, and is host to
over eight million visitors annually, attracting over 600 million
tourism dollars each year; and

WHEREAS, The King family has always enjoyed RV camping; Vic King,
who created the park, longed for a cleaner camping experience; he opened
the Lake George RV Park to the public for the first time in 1966; and

WHEREAS, A family-owned business for 50 years, Vic King's son, Dave
King started working at the park at the young age of seven; in 1988, he
held the title of General Manager; today, he serves as both President
and CEO of this successful enterprise; and

WHEREAS, Throughout its five decades of business, the Lake George RV
Park continues to grow every year; each season, people make their summer
reservations earlier and earlier; approximately 60% of its customers are
those who have visited the park before, with families often passing down
the tradition of RV camping to their children; and

WHEREAS, Much of the success of the Lake George RV Park is due to
the friendliness of the staff and its good old-fashioned customer
service; Dave King and his employees truly like to get to know their
guests and strive to make their camping experience a memorable one; and

WHEREAS, The 120-acre park offers 400 RV campsites and fully
equipped vacation rentals in addition to 30 and 50 amp hookups, water,
sanitary, cable TV, Wi-Fi at each campsite, and an extensive list of
on-site amenities which include professional entertainment at the French
Mountain Playhouse on the property, an indoor heated pool, a trolley to
local destinations, and a two-acre off-leash dog park; and

WHEREAS, In an effort to set themselves apart from other RV parks,
Dave King is continually looking for signature services to keep his
loyal customers and attract new ones; in 2016, he converted three tennis
courts into six pickleball courts; and

WHEREAS, Steeped in a proud and distinguished history, the Lake
George RV Park may take just pride in its purposeful growth, as it looks

forward to continuing to serve the recreational needs of the community;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
establishments of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Lake George RV Park; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dave King, President and CEO, the Lake George RV Park.
