HONORING Gino and Lucrezia Perrone upon the
occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Associazione Culturale Pugliese
Figli Maria SS. Addolorata on June 25, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of the community and
its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Gino and Lucrezia Perrone upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Associazione Culturale Pugliese Figli Maria
SS. Addolorata, to be celebrated on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at El Caribe,
Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Gino and Lucrezia Perrone have continually demonstrated
extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence, and diligent leadership
in their unwavering service to their community and professions and
consequently have been selected for this most prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Born in Mola di Bari, Italy in 1939, Gino Perrone was one
of eight children and migrated to the United States in 1958; and

WHEREAS, Lucrezia Russo was also born in Mola di Bari, in 1941, as
one of four children; she came to the United States in 1960; and

WHEREAS, The couple met for the first time in the spring of 1963, on
the steps of Sacred Heart and St. Stephen Church in Carroll Gardens,
Brooklyn; one year later, in July of 1964, they were united in marriage;
and

WHEREAS, Gino and Lucrezia Perrone welcomed their first daughter,
Angela, in 1966; five years later, JoAnn made their family complete; and

WHEREAS, Lucrezia Perrone is a homemaker who devoted her life to
making a loving home for her family; Gino worked at the Williamsburg
Savings Bank in Brooklyn for more than 30 years until his retirement;
and

WHEREAS, Over the years Gino and Lucrezia Perrone happily welcomed
their two son-in-laws, Michael and Luis, followed by their four
grandchildren Michael Louis, Leanna, Luis John and Ariana; and

WHEREAS, Active members of Figli Maria SS. Addolorata, Gino and
Lucrezia Perrone will celebrate their 53rd Wedding Anniversary in July
of this year; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Gino and Lucrezia Perrone
have displayed throughout their lives; and


WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Gino and Lucrezia Perrone, that future generations may know and
appreciate their admirable character, their many benevolent deeds, and
the respect and esteem in which they are held by their peers; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gino and Lucrezia Perrone upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by the Associazione Culturale Pugliese Figli
Maria SS. Addolorata on June 25, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gino and Lucrezia Perrone.
