HONORING Rosemarie Fisichelli upon the occasion of
her retirement after 37 years of distinguished
service to P.S. 238 Anne Sullivan School

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and

WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and
the success of P.S. 238 is due in large part to the efforts of Rosemarie
Fisichelli; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Rosemarie
Fisichelli upon the occasion of her retirement after 37 years of
distinguished service to P.S. 238 Anne Sullivan School; this momentous
occasion will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Sirico's,
Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, A true inspiration and mentor, Rosemarie Fisichelli has
served P.S. 238 in several capacities including as a music, special
education and STEM teacher; she also led the Anne Sullivan Honor Society
and served as Special Education Coordinator; and

WHEREAS, As a UFT union chapter leader, Rosemarie Fisichelli has
been instrumental in building a strong bridge between the students, the
parents, the staff and the administration; and

WHEREAS, Rosemarie Fisichelli has served as a School Leadership
Chairperson for many years, working closely with PTA parents and the
Community School Board to achieve goals; and

WHEREAS, A caring, competent and committed leader, Rosemarie
Fisichelli's character and integrity are the hallmarks of her life and
work as an educational leader, a community volunteer and as a person;
and

WHEREAS, The Brooklyn community is indeed fortunate and blessed to
have had such a dedicated and respected educational leader; her wisdom
and contributions reached into every classroom, truly making a
difference in the lives of those lucky enough to have worked with her;
and

WHEREAS, A significant contributor to education in New York State,
Rosemarie Fisichelli has continually demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered at
P.S. 238 for the benefit of its faculty and students, as well as for
the entire community; and

WHEREAS, In completing her service, Rosemarie Fisichelli leaves
behind more than mere bricks and mortar; she leaves behind a legacy to

the students of P.S. 238 and to the residents of the Brooklyn community;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rosemarie Fisichelli upon the occasion of her retirement, and to
wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rosemarie Fisichelli.
