BY: Senator COMRIE

MEMORIALIZING Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim
November 15, 2017, as America Recycles Day in the

in the State of New York which recognize the importance of practicing
sound environmental procedures, protecting our precious resources, and
preserving our natural environment; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim November 15, 2017, as

observance of National America Recycles Day; and

WHEREAS, Since 1997, communities across the country have come
together on November 15th to celebrate America Recycles Day; and

WHEREAS, More than a celebration, America Recycles Day is the only
nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling
programs in the United States; and

WHEREAS, America Recycles Day serves as a day to inform and educate
the community about the importance of recycling; and

WHEREAS, This day also draws together neighbors, friends and
community leaders in an effort to get them excited about what can be
accomplished when we all work together; and

WHEREAS, The State of New York, in concert with the national and
global community, should not only set goals to recycle, but also set
goals on how to achieve the reuse of components of seemingly obsolete
objects; now, therefore, be it
