COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the Seneca
County Farm Bureau

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the
continuing welfare of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly
enriched and reliably served by the purposeful endeavors of individuals
who are committed to the preservation of our agriculture industry and
the enhancement of the appreciation of the distinctive features of our
surroundings; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Seneca County Farm Bureau; this
momentous occasion will be celebrated in December of 2017, at Rodman
Lott & Sons Farm, Seneca Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1917, the Seneca County Farm Bureau is a
non-governmental, volunteer organization financed and controlled by
member families for the purpose of solving economic and public policy
issues challenging the agricultural industry; and

WHEREAS, Seneca County Farm Bureau gives farmers and non-farmers
alike the opportunity to be part of an organization dedicated to
supporting and enriching agriculture; it provides individuals interested
in the food system, land issues and rural living the ability to join
together and make their voices heard; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of its President, Ann Heizmann,
this vital organization is active within the political system on a broad
range of issues that concern every New Yorker, from taxation and
conservation to local food availability; and

WHEREAS, Seneca County Farm Bureau believes that a strong, viable
agricultural industry is beneficial not only to the economy, but also to
the local communities and consumers; and

WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, the Seneca County Farm
Bureau serves and strengthens agriculture throughout Seneca County; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 100 year history, the Seneca County
Farm Bureau has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Seneca County Farm Bureau is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Seneca County Farm
Bureau; and

WHEREAS, In light of its commitment, dedication and successful
efforts, it is the custom of this Legislative Body to extend its highest
commendation to the Farm Bureau of Seneca County, New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Seneca County Farm Bureau; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ann Heizmann, President, Seneca County Farm Bureau.
