HONORING Nancy Connolly Polino upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the 2017 Sophia
Award by Mount St. Mary Academy

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nancy Connolly Polino upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2017 Sophia Award by Mount St. Mary Academy at its 90th
Anniversary Celebration; and

WHEREAS, A 1979 graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy, Nancy Connolly
Polino is being recognized with this esteemed award for her steadfast
dedication to serving the community; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Connolly Polino gives tirelessly of her time and
energies spearheading food drives and gift donations for more than 800
families at St. Luke's Mission of Mercy; she is also a past member of
the Mount St. Mary board of trustees; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Nancy Connolly Polino has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Widely respected and greatly admired for her unremitting
dedication and prolific contributions, Nancy Connolly Polino has been
cited on a number of occasions for her distinguished community service;
and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Nancy Connolly Polino has
displayed throughout her career; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Nancy Connolly Polino, that future generations may know and appreciate
her admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nancy Connolly Polino upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2017 Sophia Award by Mount St. Mary Academy; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nancy Connolly Polino.
