HONORING Brandi Rozelle upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Rising Star Award by
the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on January 19,
2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Brandi Rozelle upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Rising Star Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated at its Annual Dinner on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Club 86,
Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Rising Star Award is given to a young professional (40
or under) who has made outstanding contributions to their profession or
life's work and/or devoted their time and effort in the greater Seneca
County community improving the quality of life for others; and
WHEREAS, Brandi Rozelle has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, With a true passion for early childhood literacy, Brandi
Rozelle has been employed by the Waterloo Library for six years,
beginning as a part-time Library Clerk and moving on to Library Manager
before her current position as Library Director; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Brandi Rozelle, the
Waterloo Library has seen tremendous progress; children's story time has
grown tremendously from a few children attending sporadically to upwards
of 25 plus children in attendance regularly; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Waterloo Library now has the top
circulation of books, DVD's, audio books and materials within the Seneca
County Libraries; and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of her community, Brandi
Rozelle is an active part of the Seneca Shares committee, which works to
align policy, programming, and promotion of the Seneca County Libraries
to foster literacy within its community; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this extraordinary young woman has partnered
with numerous community organizations including the fill a bus school
supply program and the Waterloo Rotary; during many of these events, she
can be seen giving away thousands of free books to Waterloo residents;
and
WHEREAS, Brandi Rozelle has been instrumental in the successful
promotion of literacy throughout her community, making it a top priority
to get books into the hands of local children of all ages; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Brandi Rozelle has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Brandi Rozelle has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Brandi Rozelle, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brandi Rozelle upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Rising Star Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on
January 19, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Brandi Rozelle.
