HONORING Michael Nozzolio upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement
Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on
January 19, 2018

WHEREAS, It is appropriate and fitting to duly recognize and commend
those individuals of high purpose and dedicated service who have devoted
their life and career to serving the workings of State government; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michael
Nozzolio upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Lifetime Achievement Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to
be celebrated at its Annual Dinner Meeting on Friday, January 19, 2018,
at Club 86, Geneva, New York; and

WHEREAS, Michael Nozzolio, who served as a New York State Senator,
has given not only of his time and energies but also of his competence,
intelligence and leadership and consequently has been designated for
special honor; and

WHEREAS, Known as the Senator of the Finger Lakes, Michael Nozzolio
spent his 34-year legislative career tirelessly supporting his
constituents with disabilities, veterans and senior citizens, while also
promoting education, health care and environmental research; and

WHEREAS, During his illustrious tenure, Michael Nozzolio was
instrumental in the establishment of the Sampson Veterans Memorial
Cemetery and an increase in funding for the public schools in his
district; in addition, he assisted with funding for Auburn Community
Hospital, Finger Lakes Health, and the Seneca Falls Public Library; and

WHEREAS, Michael Nozzolio also assisted with the creation of the
Finger Lakes Institute for Food Safety at Cornell, and has been a leader
in the retention and recruitment of important job producing businesses
in the Finger Lakes; and

WHEREAS, While serving as an elected official, Michael Nozzolio
continuously went above and beyond his job description to better the
lives of his constituents and the community-at-large; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering dedication to the
community, Michael Nozzolio is currently leading the Finger Lakes
Initiative for Economic Development; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Michael Nozzolio has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, Every citizen in New York State has most certainly
benefited, in one way or another, from the deep dedication, intelligence
and passion that State Senator Michael Nozzolio brought to his work as a
legislator and public policy maker; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Nozzolio upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce on January 19, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Michael Nozzolio.
