Senate Resolution No. 3363

COMMENDING Genevieve D. Messa upon the occasion of
her retirement after 25 years of distinguished
service to the Oneida County Board of Legislators
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, Genevieve "Genny" D. Messa rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the Oneida County Board
of Legislators; and
WHEREAS, Born to the late Carmen and Edith Mandia, Genny D. Messa
and her three brothers were happily raised in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her long career with Oneida County, Genny D. Messa
was employed with the Jefferson County Family Court; she also worked at
various banks and women's clothing boutiques; and
WHEREAS, In her much deserved retirement, Genny D. Messa looks
forward to making memories by spending more time with her family and
friends, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, shopping for new
clothes and shoes, taking a cruise, and traveling throughout New
England; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Secretary of the Oneida County Board of
Legislators, Genny D. Messa served with loyalty, honor and distinction;
and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Genny D. Messa was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 52 years, John
Messa, their four children, four grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild, all of whom have shown her love and support and
rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Oneida County Board of
Legislators, Genny D. Messa earned the admiration, esteem and affection
of her colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Genevieve D. Messa upon the occasion of her retirement after 25
years of distinguished service to the Oneida County Board of
Legislators, and to wish her continued success in all her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Genevieve D. Messa.
