Senate Resolution No. 3407

HONORING the Town of Geneva upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the 2018 Member of
the Year Award by the Geneva Area Chamber of
Commerce on January 25, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and
commemorate the communities which comprise the noble body of this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
The Town of Geneva upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2018 Member of the Year Award by the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce
to be celebrated at its 2018 Annual Dinner Banquet on Thursday, January
25, 2018, at Club 86 in Geneva, New York; and

WHEREAS, Known as the gateway to the Finger Lakes Wine Country, the
Town of Geneva is located in the southeastern part of Ontario County;
under the luminous leadership of Supervisor Mark Venuti, the Town is
dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of its citizens, ensuring a
positive business, institutional and educational climate, and providing
all essential services; the Town is especially proud of its unwavering
determination to protect its water and natural resources; and

WHEREAS, The Town of Geneva is receiving this prestigious award for
its demonstrated and concentrated growth throughout the last year; with
a consistent focus and dedication towards developing the greater Geneva
community, the Town has diligently worked to generate new plans to both
support and develop vacant land and abandoned properties; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
municipalities which enhance the well-being and vitality of its
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Town of Geneva upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2018 Member of the Year Award by the Geneva Area
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mark Venuti, Supervisor, Town of Geneva.
