COMMENDING Kristi Burkey upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2017
Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women
and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Kristi Burkey has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Kristi
Burkey upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and

WHEREAS, Kristi Burkey graduated from Livingston Manor High School,
and is a Certified Nursing Assistant; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Kristi Burkey is employed at the Roscoe Regional
Rehabilitation and Residential Healthcare Facility; she has worked her
entire career in Roscoe, 10 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant,
followed by 12 years as the activities leader; in April of 2017, she was
promoted to Activities Director; and

WHEREAS, As Activities Director, Kristi Burkey plans daily
activities, writes care plans, manages the activities department, and
develops progress notes; she feels great satisfaction when one of her
residents reaches his/her goals and is able to return to their home; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 18 years,
David, and their two children, Kaitlyn and Justin, who have all shown
her support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Kristi Burkey has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Kristi Burkey upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kristi Burkey.
