COMMENDING Nancy McGraw upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2017
Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women
and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Nancy McGraw has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Nancy
McGraw upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and

WHEREAS, Nancy McGraw earned her bachelor's degree in psychology
from CWU, and her Master's of Social Work from Marywood College; she
furthered her education by obtaining her Executive Master's in Business
Administration in Health Care Administration from SUNY Binghamton;
currently, she is a Master's in Public Health candidate at SUNY Albany;
and

WHEREAS, For 17 years, Nancy McGraw has served in the public health
industry; for the last four years, she has held the title of Public
Director at Sullivan County Public Health Services in Liberty, New York;
and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Nancy McGraw is responsible for the
overall management of Sullivan County Public Health Services, and
assists in directing the administration of programs and collaborating
with community organizations to improve overall health throughout the
County; and

WHEREAS, Each day, Nancy McGraw plans and manages multiple programs
which have a direct impact on the community or population's overall
health and well-being; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Nancy McGraw, Sullivan
County Public Health Services offers numerous programs to the community
including Early Intervention, Healthy Families home visiting, Women,
Infants and Children (WIC), communicable disease, TB, and STD control,
immunization clinics, animal vaccination clinics for rabies prevention,
lead poisoning prevention, car seat safety, and various public health
education services to prevent disease, promote health, and assure the
protection of the county; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Sullivan County Public Health Services
operates a certified home health agency; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Nancy McGraw is actively
involved with the Alan Milk VFW Auxiliary, Long Eddy, and volunteers
with the Boy Scout Troop 106 in Jeffersonville; she is also a member of
the Cornell Cooperative Extension Program Advisory Committee and the New
York State Association of County Health Officials Board of Directors;
and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 31 years,
Kirk, their three children, and four grandchildren, all of whom have
shown her love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Nancy McGraw has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Nancy McGraw upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nancy McGraw.
