COMMENDING Virginia V. Horn upon the occasion of
her retirement after 16 years of distinguished
service as Town Clerk of Lumberland, New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Virginia V. Horn upon the occasion of her retirement after 16
years of distinguished service as Town Clerk of Lumberland, New York;
she officially retired from this esteemed position on Sunday, December
31, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Virginia V. Horn, affectionately known as Ginni, began her
illustrious career in public service as Lumberland Town Clerk in 2002;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Ginni Horn served the Town of
Lumberland, New York, with intelligence and caring dedication,
continuously striving to effectively fulfill the duties of her position;
and
WHEREAS, As Town Clerk, Ginni Horn was responsible for tax
collection, annual operating procedures, oaths of office, official
undertakings and monthly board meetings, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom she worked, Ginni Horn will be remembered for her honesty,
integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in her official acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Virginia V. Horn upon the occasion of her retirement after 16
years of distinguished service as Town Clerk of Lumberland, New York,
and to wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Virginia V. Horn.
