HONORING Sandra Morrill upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition after 38 years
of dedicated service to the Norfolk Volunteer Fire
Department

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who devote
their lives and careers to the service of others; and

WHEREAS, Our firefighters are greatly supported by the service of
dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and energies to the
efficient operation of their fire departments; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sandra
Morrill upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after 38 years of dedicated service to the Norfolk Volunteer Fire
Department to be celebrated at its Annual Banquet on Saturday, January
27, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Morrill joined the Norfolk Fire District in 1979,
during which time she served the Department as the board's Secretary and
Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious tenure, Sandra Morrill oversaw
the construction of two fire stations and the purchase of more than a
dozen pieces of apparatus; she was also instrumental in the development
of a community park adjacent to the Norfolk arena; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Morrill's exceptional commitment to the Norfolk
Volunteer Fire Department and the community is one deserving of high
praise, congratulations, and recognition; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed woman is deserving of the highest
commendation of this Legislative Body for her commitment to the Norfolk
Volunteer Fire Department, as she has helped to advance the perception
of her community as a caring and united community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sandra Morrill upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after 38 years of dedicated service to the Norfolk Volunteer
Fire Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sandra Morrill.
