CONGRATULATING the Allegany-Limestone Girls
Varsity Soccer Team upon the occasion of winning the
2017 Class C New York State Championship
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice, team play, and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community, who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Allegany-Limestone Girls Varsity Soccer Team upon the
occasion of winning the 2017 Class C New York State Championship; and
WHEREAS, The Allegany-Limestone Girls Soccer Team successfully won
their second State championship in school history by defeating
Stillwater 3-2 on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Homer High School; this
win by the Allegany-Limestone Gators was less than 24 hours after their
victory in the State Semifinals against Southold/Greenport; it is
amazing that the Gators defeated three teams that were ranked second in
Class C in the State, as well as knocking off Stillwater who was the
State's Number one Class C Team; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the dedication and efforts of Head Coach Dale MacArthur, who has
two State titles in his 29 years of coaching with an impressive record
of 454-102-33; and
WHEREAS, The team members were loyally and enthusiastically
supported by family, fans, friends, and the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven
themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Allegany-Limestone Girls Varsity Soccer Team; its
members: Hallie Domes, Brooke Giardini, Brianna Kellner, Shealynn Maley,
Anna Seamon, Erica Volz, Molly Wolfgang, Elizabeth Collins, Abby Irvin,
Lauren Schifley, Cameron Spring, Elizabeth Waugaman, Grace DeCapua,
Sarah Eddy, Sofia Fortuna, Abbey Gardiner, Emily Giardini, Tierney
Hemphill, Kaitlyn Higby, Molly McClelland, Megan Neamon, and Alyssa
Spring; Head Coach Dale MacArthur and Assistant Coaches Pete Hellier and
Rob Higby; Volunteer Coaches Kathy MacArthur and Dave Barton; Managers
Aubrey Luce, Gracie Amore, Kymber Benjamin, and Taylor Foster on their
incredible State title win; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to each team member; Head Coach Dale MacArthur; and
Assistant Coaches Pete Hellier and Rob Higby; Volunteer Coaches Kathy
MacArthur and Dave Barton; Managers Aubrey Luce, Gracie Amore, Kymber
Benjamin, and Taylor Foster.
