HONORING Bryce Hetherly upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2018 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bryce Hetherly upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 20th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala, "Celebrating A Twenty Year Legacy
of Mentoring Excellence" on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, A junior at Wallkill High School, Bryce Hetherly has always
wanted to be a pilot; he worked hard to improve his grades and enrolled
in an aviation program at Orange-Ulster County BOCES; and

WHEREAS, After graduation, Bryce Hetherly hopes to continue his
flying education by attending the two-year aviation program at Dutchess
Community College; he then plans on transferring to a four-year school
to earn his bachelor's degree; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Bryce Hetherly has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Bryce Hetherly, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bryce Hetherly upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bryce Hetherly.
