HONORING Casey Lynn McKnight upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2018 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Casey Lynn McKnight upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 20th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala, "Celebrating A Twenty Year Legacy
of Mentoring Excellence" on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional student-athlete at Newburgh Free Academy,
Casey Lynn McKnight is a member of the National Honor Society, the
National Foreign Language Honor Society, and the Kitty Hawk Honor
Society; she also serves as the Captain of her softball team; and

WHEREAS, Casey Lynn McKnight's passion is aviation; currently, she
holds the position of Commander of both the 2017-2018 Red Tail Youth
Flying Program class, and the Air Force Junior ROTC's Awareness
Presentation Team where she speaks to groups of young people about the
program; and

WHEREAS, After graduation, Casey Lynn McKnight plans on continuing
her education studying aeronautical science with a minor in flight text
and simulation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Casey Lynn McKnight has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Casey Lynn McKnight, in achieving this academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Casey Lynn McKnight upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best
wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Casey Lynn McKnight.
