HONORING Alexa Quispe upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2018 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Alexa Quispe upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 20th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala, "Celebrating A Twenty Year Legacy
of Mentoring Excellence" on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional student-athlete at Marlboro Central High
School, Alexa Quispe is a member of both the indoor/outdoor track and
cross-country teams; she also studies auto technology at her resident
BOCES; and

WHEREAS, When she is not in school, Alexa Quispe volunteers her time
and energy at the local nursing home and a Salvation Army Soup Kitchen;
and

WHEREAS, After graduation, Alexa Quispe plans on continuing her
education studying aeronautical engineering at Vaughn College of
Aeronautics and Technology, where she was the recipient of a
scholarship; after college, she hopes to enlist in the United States Air
Force; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Alexa Quispe has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Alexa Quispe, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alexa Quispe upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alexa Quispe.
