COMMENDING Detective Pamela Stark upon the
occasion of her retirement after 20 years of
distinguished service to the Nassau County Police
Department

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote
themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Detective
Pamela Stark upon the occasion of her retirement after 20 years of
distinguished service to the Nassau County Police Department, celebrated
with a party held in her honor on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at The
Hispanic Circle, in Hempstead, New York; and

WHEREAS, In 1997, Detective Pamela Stark began her esteemed career
as a patrol officer in the 8th Precinct of the Nassau County Police
Department; in September of 2005, she was promoted to the title of
Detective; and

WHEREAS, In December of 2009, Detective Pamela Stark was assigned to
Community Affairs to serve as a point person for Nassau County's
"three-pronged approach" to combat its opiate epidemic: Enforcement,
Education and Awareness; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Detective Pamela Stark has
represented her department at county meetings, task forces, summits,
coalitions and conventions; she has also shared her knowledge about
various topics at conferences, seminars, businesses, medical/dental
societies, schools and public events; and

WHEREAS, A certified Trainer for the "Too Good for Drugs"
curriculum, Detective Pamela Stark has talked to thousands of students
about the perils of drug use in all 56 Nassau County school districts;
and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Detective Pamela Stark has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Detective Pamela Stark upon the occasion of her retirement after
20 years of dedicated service to the Nassau County Police Department,
and to wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Detective Pamela Stark.
