HONORING Adelson Aguasvivas upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Adelson Aguasvivas upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 19th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Newburgh Free Academy (NFA), Adelson Aguasvivas
came to the United States from the Dominican Republic at the age of 9,
knowing only Spanish; and

WHEREAS, Adelson Aguasvivas is ranked sixth in his class of 693
students, and hopes to continue his education studying computer science
and statistics with the aim of becoming a software applications
developer; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Adelson Aguasvivas has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Adelson Aguasvivas, in achieving this academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Adelson Aguasvivas upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best
wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Adelson Aguasvivas.
