COMMENDING Barbara Pinto upon the occasion of her
induction into the Monticello High School Hall of
Distinction Class of 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Barbara Pinto upon the occasion of her induction into the
Monticello High School Hall of Distinction Class of 2017; this momentous
occasion was celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Arnold
Packer Hughs Auditorium in Monticello High School; and

WHEREAS, A member of the Monticello High School Class of 1982,
Barbara Pinto is an ABC News correspondent in the network's Chicago
bureau; in this capacity, she files reports for "World News with Diane
Sawyer," "Good Morning America," "Nightline," and other renowned
broadcasts and platforms; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her profession, Barbara Pinto has been the
recipient of numerous awards and accolades including recognition from
the Society of Professional Journalists, the Associated Press, New York
Broadcasters Association and the National Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Barbara Pinto stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Barbara Pinto has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhanced the well-being and vitality of their community and showed a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Barbara Pinto upon the occasion of her induction into the
Monticello High School Hall of Distinction Class of 2017; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Barbara Pinto.
