COMMENDING Gunther B. Goldsmith, DDS upon the
occasion of his retirement after serving more than
55 distinguished years as a prominent Dentist in
Middletown, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those individuals within the medical field who
distinguish themselves through professional excellence and who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life of citizens in the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Gunther B. Goldsmith, DDS upon the occasion of his retirement
after serving more than 55 distinguished years as a prominent Dentist in
Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his trailblazing career, Dr. Gunther B.
Goldsmith served his beloved community of Middletown, New York, with
intelligence and caring dedication, continuously striving to effectively
fulfill the duties of his position as a medical professional; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School
of Medicine in 1956, Dr. Gunther B. Goldsmith began his long and
distinguished career as a Dentist; and
WHEREAS, For over six decades, Dr. Gunther B. Goldsmith has served
his community by treating his patients' teeth and gum diseases and
conditions; he has also repaired and extracted thousands of teeth and
inserted artificial ones; and
WHEREAS, For the past 55 years, Dr. Gunther B. Goldsmith has worked
in Middletown; at the time of his retirement in 2017, he shared a
private practice with his daughter, Ellen J. Solomon, DMD; and
WHEREAS, Through the practice, Dr. Gunther B. Goldsmith offered his
clients various services including teeth cleaning and whitening, gum
disease treatment, porcelain veneers, implants and periodontal
treatments, dental implants, and root canals; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom Dr. Gunther B. Goldsmith worked, he will be remembered for his
honesty, integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique
grasp of human problems in his official acts; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hobart Lerner has distinguished himself in his career
and community involvement, and the citizens of Rochester have profited
greatly from his dedication and service; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Gunther B. Goldsmith, DDS upon his outstanding career of
magnificent achievements, and to wish him a rewarding and well-earned
retirement; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gunther B. Goldsmith, DDS.
