COMMENDING Louis W. Pierro upon the occasion of
being named the 2018 Lawyer of the Year in the
practice of elder law by the Best Lawyers

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to individuals who have shown an enduring commitment to
improving the quality of life in their communities and to enhancing
their profession and fostering the highest level of professionalism; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Louis W. Pierro upon the occasion of being named the 2018 Lawyer
of the Year in the practice of elder law by the Best Lawyers; and

WHEREAS, Louis W. Pierro will proudly be featured in the 24th
edition of The Best Lawyers in America for his outstanding work in the
practice of elder law; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of Albany Law School, Louis W. Pierro was
admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984; throughout his 34-year
career, he has practiced elder law, estate planning, and special needs
planning, as well as both tax and business law; and

WHEREAS, Louis W. Pierro recently established EverHome Care
Advisors, a company which combines legal planning, home care management
and innovative technology to help people stay independent and improve
communication between families and providers; and

WHEREAS, Devoted to his profession, Louis W. Pierro has served as
Chair of the Estate Planning Committee, and currently, is a vital member
of the Elder Law Section Executive Committee; and

WHEREAS, Louis W. Pierro is also the founder and Director of Elder
Counsel, a national organization of elder law and special needs law
firms which provides software and training to 950 member firms
throughout the United States; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Louis W. PIerro is a founding partner of
Pierro, Connor & Associates, a firm which has 10 branches located in New
York State and Florida; and

WHEREAS, With quiet dignity, kindness and grace, Louis W. Pierro has
served as a tireless advocate for the elderly, a strong voice for the
voiceless, and an inspiration to his colleagues, and to countless others
who labor in pursuit of equal access to justice for all; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals in the legal profession, such as
Louis W. Pierro, who distinguish themselves through their exemplary
careers and purposeful lives of service to their community and their
profession; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Louis W. Pierro upon the occasion of being named the 2018 Lawyer
of the Year in the practice of elder law by the Best Lawyers; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Louis W. Pierro.
