HONORING Dan O'Neill upon the occasion of his
Installation as Grand Marshal of the Buchanan St.
Patrick's Day Parade

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in recognizing its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill will be honored as Grand Marshal of the
Buchanan St. Patrick's Day Parade during a "kick-off" party to be held
at the Buchanan Fire House on March 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill's paternal grandparents emigrated from Ireland,
and his mother, Pat, is half-Irish; Pat passed away in 2010, and Dan
will wear an Irish Fisherman's sweater that she knit for the parade on
March 11th, which would also have been her birthday; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill graduated from Croton-Harmon High School,
Hunter College, and Brooklyn Law School; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill started his career at the New York City
Council's President's Office, and later served as General Counsel for
the Governor's Commission for the Study of Youth Crime and Juvenile
Justice; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill has lectured on local politics at Pace
University and Boston College; and

WHEREAS, Since 2001, Dan O'Neill has been an attorney with the
Boeggeman, George & Corde law firm; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill served three terms as Mayor of Buchanan, and
was also a T-ball coach; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill was honored as Humanitarian of the Year by
Buchanan Engine Company No.1; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill and his loving wife, Michele, are the proud
parents of two children, Peter and Leslie; and

WHEREAS, Dan O'Neill is a wonderful role model who has inspired
others through his tireless dedication to his community; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dan O'Neill upon the occasion of his Installation as Grand Marshal
of the Buchanan St. Patrick's Day Parade; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dan O'Neill.
