COMMENDING Nicole Asselta upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Port
Washington Parent Resource Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Asselta has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Nicole
Asselta upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Port Washington Parent Resource Center, to be celebrated at its
Masquerade Party on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Guggenheim Mansion at The
Village Club of Sands Point; and

WHEREAS, For more than 35 years, the Parent Resource Center (PRC)
has been an integral part of the Port Washington community, bringing
together families with young children to play, learn, grow, and make
life-long friendships; and

WHEREAS, Beginning in 1978 as a Mother-Child Home Program sponsored
by the Port Washington School District, the program was designed to help
low-income families learn successful parent skills; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Asselta earned her master's degree in social work
from Hunter University, and a certificate in bioethics and medical
humanities from New York University; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Port Washington, New York, and the devoted
mother of three children, Nicole Asselta has served as a licensed social
worker for both Montefiore Medical Center in the Division of Adolescent
Medicine and Visiting Nurse Service of New York; and

WHEREAS, This remarkable woman also held the titles of Vice
President and co-Chair of the Outreach Committee at PRC; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Nicole Asselta has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Nicole Asselta, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Nicole Asselta upon the occasion of her designation for special

recognition by the Port Washington Parent Resource Center; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicole Asselta.
