COMMENDING Lawrence Kudlow upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by The
Cathedral Club of Brooklyn on February 9, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those distinguished citizens who devote their time and
energies to the service of their community and profession, participating
in civic affairs and enhancing the character and quality of life for all
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Lawrence Kudlow upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by The Cathedral Club of Brooklyn, to be celebrated at its
117th Anniversary Dinner on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the New York
Marriott Marquis in New York, New York; and
WHEREAS, In addition, His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan will serve
as this year's Keynote Speaker; and
WHEREAS, Founded on March 1, 1900, the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn is
the primary Catholic lay organization in the Diocese of Brooklyn; its
members work to advance Catholic interests, promote the moral
improvement of its members, foster their Catholic spirit, and unite them
through social gatherings held in pursuit of its mission; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Kudlow was educated at both the University of
Rochester and Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and
International Affairs; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Lawrence Kudlow holds the distinguished title of
Senior Contributor of CNBC and is the well-known radio host of the
nationally-syndicated "Larry Kudlow Show"; he is also a syndicated
columnist and author of the recently released JFK and the Reagan
Revolution; and
WHEREAS, During President Ronald Reagan's first term, Lawrence
Kudlow served as the Associate Director for Economics and Planning,
Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President; in
this capacity, he was engaged in the development of the administration's
economic and budget policy; and
WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
community, Lawrence Kudlow is the recipient of numerous awards including
the Extraordinary Commitment Award by St. Patrick's Church of Redding,
Connecticut, the Bishop's Humanitarian Award by Catholic Charities of
Brooklyn and Queens, the Humanitarian Award by the Pregnancy Care Center
of New Rochelle, New York, the Distinguished Communicator Award by the
Brooklyn Diocese, and the Ambassadors for Mission Award by the
Pontifical Mission Societies of the United States; and
WHEREAS, A true public servant, Lawrence Kudlow also received the
Spirit Award by the Hazelden Foundation of Center City, Minnesota, the
Exemplary Achievement Award by Covenant House of New York, the Ethical
Angel Award by the Guardian Angels of New York, the Reagan Great
Communicator Award, the Discovery Award by Sacred Heart University, the
Visionary Award by Council for Economic Education, the Community
Recognition Award by Positive Directions, the Reflection Award by Good
Counsel, and the President's Award by Silver Hill Hospital, as well as
the Dwight-Englewood School Outstanding Alumni Award; and
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his community, Lawrence Kudlow serves on
the Board of Directors of Hazelden New York, and the Catholic Cluster
School of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut; he also holds the
title of President of St. Patrick's Church Parish Council, and a was a
former member of the Fordham University Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their profession and community,
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lawrence Kudlow upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by The Cathedral Club of Brooklyn on February 9, 2017; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lawrence Kudlow.
