COMMENDING Angela Connolly-Coyle upon the occasion
of her designation as Deputy Marshal of the 2018 Bay
Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Angela Connolly-Coyle upon the occasion of her designation as
Deputy Marshal of the 2018 Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade; and

WHEREAS, In acknowledgment of this most prestigious appointment,
Angela Connolly-Coyle will march as Deputy Marshal of the 25th Annual
Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade down 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, New
York, on Sunday, March 25, 2018; and

WHEREAS, The Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade is meant to
recognize and celebrate Irish culture, heritage and pride, for those who
have emigrated here from the Emerald Isle, the Irish-American community,
as well as those who are Irish in spirit; and

WHEREAS, Angela Connolly-Coyle was born to Charles and Jeanette
Connolly in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she attended Our Lady of Angels
Grammar School and St. Saviour High School; during the summers, she
enjoyed spending time outdoors working on various farms and fishing the
clear, cold waters of Prince Edward Island, Canada; and

WHEREAS, Today, Angela Connolly-Coyle serves as a consultant Project
Manager for numerous non-profit organizations; in this capacity, she
focuses on working with survivors of tragic events, especially first
responders and members of the military, and helping them to find a new
normal and repair their lives; and

WHEREAS, Recently, Angela Connolly-Coyle successfully completed a
contract with the United War Veterans Council; throughout her tenure,
she was responsible for recruiting and managing 300+ volunteers,
mobilizing community support, and engaging with both long-time and
potential partners to honor, support, and serve America's veterans; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her esteemed career, Angela Connolly-Coyle has
worked on many other high-profile assignments such as Project Manager
for a Florida-based fund for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their
families, Program Manager for both the Leary Firefighters Foundation and
the FDNY Counseling Service Unit; in 1984, she founded and served as
Director of the New York City Child Abuse Prevention Program; and

WHEREAS, For her steadfast and unremitting commitment to her
profession, Angela Connolly-Coyle was the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades including the 2010 Distinguished Community Service Award
by the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guard and Airmen's Club; the
2008 NOFD Service Plaque; the 2004 Extraordinary Service to Humanity

Award by the Bear Search and Rescue Foundation; 2003 Directors Special
Commendation by the FDNY; and the 2003 and 2004 Telly Award for
Excellence in Outreach Materials; as well as the 2001 Mayor's Urban Hero
Award; and

WHEREAS, An accomplished author, Angela Connolly-Coyle has written
numerous articles and guides outlining tools and coping mechanisms for
those who are in need of help and guidance during their time of crisis;
and

WHEREAS, When she is not at work, Angela Connolly-Coyle has
graciously donated her time and energy to numerous worthy organizations
such as Soldiers', Sailors', Marines', Coast Guard, and Airmen's Club;
Hurricane Sandy Relief; Wounded Warriors, Achilles Foundation, Hope and
Possibility Run; and the Red Cross; and

WHEREAS, Proud of her Irish heritage, Angela Connolly-Coyle has
worked for the St. Patrick's Day Foundation which supports and produces
the annual NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her three children, Lauren,
Brittany, and Daniel; and her two grandchildren, Steven and Kane, all of
whom have shown her love and support and look forward to walking
alongside her in the parade; and

WHEREAS, A St. Patrick's Day Parade reflects and records the ongoing
history of the United States and Ireland, and provides an opportunity
for people of all generations to assemble in ethnic pride and pageantry;
and

WHEREAS, A fitting choice for Deputy Marshal for the Bay Ridge St.
Patrick's Day Parade, Angela Connolly-Coyle embodies the spirit and the
cherished ideals and values of Irish-Americans of this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Angela Connolly-Coyle upon the occasion of her designation as
Deputy Marshal of the 2018 Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Angela Connolly-Coyle.
