HONORING Cliff Kelsey upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition after 60 years
of distinguished service to the Goshen Rotary Club

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Kelsey has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Cliff Kelsey
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition after 60
years of distinguished service to the Goshen Rotary Club; this momentous
occasion was celebrated on Thursday, February 1, 2018, 60 years to the
day he was inducted into the Club; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Kelsey received this most auspicious honor for his
six decades of steadfast and unremitting service to both the Goshen
Rotary Club and the community-at-large; and

WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Cliff Kelsey has always given of himself
unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary man has truly exemplified the Rotary
motto, Service Above Self, and continues to be a presence flipping
hamburgers in his signature long-sleeved shirts during Goshen's Great
American Weekend; helping prepare the annual Thanksgiving Community
Dinner; and anything else asked of him; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Cliff Kelsey has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Cliff Kelsey has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Cliff Kelsey, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cliff Kelsey upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 60 years of distinguished service to the Goshen Rotary
Club; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cliff Kelsey.
