HONORING Todd Parlato, co-owner of Atlas Bowl,
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the
Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce on January 26,
2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and whose purposeful endeavors, as involved
members of the community, enhance the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Todd Parlato, co-owner of Atlas Bowl, upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by
the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual
Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 26, 2017, in the Emerson
Suites at Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York; and

WHEREAS, Todd Parlato is receiving this prestigious award for his
investment in Trumansburg, development of a community recreational and
culinary hub, and continued commitment to growth; and

WHEREAS, Established in March of 2015, Atlas Bowl occupies the
former grocery store in the Village of Trumansburg; co-owners Todd
Parlato, Pete Browning, and Jon Wagner have created a social dining
destination, complete with ample seating, a vibrant menu, an extensive
wine list, and a cocktail bar serving mixed drinks, beer, cider and soft
drinks; and

WHEREAS, The main attraction however, is old-school, 10-pin bowling;
the trio of co-owners restored seven lanes to 1950s style chic, offering
a nostalgic experience, complete with hand scoring; and

WHEREAS, Fun for families and die-hard bowlers, league bowling is
available on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings, "QuizBowl " trivia
night is offered on Wednesday, Family Nights on Tuesday, and Vinyl
Showcase is held on Thursdays, complete with free music, menu specials
and half-price bowling; and

WHEREAS, Committed to developing its community, Atlas Bowl has
graciously supported local agriculture programs and non-profit
organizations by engaging various groups in hosting events and
fundraisers at Atlas Bowl; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, Atlas Bowl has been instrumental in
creating high quality jobs in a small community, and has become an
anchor of downtown Trumansburg; Todd Parlato has been the heart and soul
of Atlas; he has tirelessly engaged local businesses, community members
and more to create not just the restaurant he wants to run, but one the
community deserves; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to recognize Todd Parlato,
co-owner of Atlas Bowl, for his commitment and contributions to the
Village of Trumansburg and to its quality of life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and businesses of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Todd Parlato, co-owner of Atlas Bowl, upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by
the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Todd Parlato, co-owner, Atlas Bowl.
