COMMENDING Gianluca Mech upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the
Federation of Italian-American Organizations of
Brooklyn, Ltd. on April 8, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Gianluca Mech upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of
Brooklyn, Ltd., to be celebrated at its 41st Annual Gala on Sunday,
April 8, 2018; and
WHEREAS, For the last 43 years, the Federation of Italian-American
Organizations of Brooklyn, Ltd. has stayed true to its mission of
promoting unity in its multi-cultural community; this vital organization
strives to instill and preserve the highest ideal of Americanism,
provide mutual assistance and encourage greater participation; and
WHEREAS, Gianluca Mech was born to Giovanni Mech and Gabrielle
(Rovetti) Mech on July 12, 1969, in Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza,
Veneto, Italy; he earned his undergraduate degree in Communication
Sciences, and master's degrees in Communication and Marketing, and
Traditional Herbalism; and
WHEREAS, Gianluca Mech's ancestors have experimented with the art
and secrets of herbal medicine for centuries; many of the decoctions
which Gianluca currently produces were first prepared in 1911; and
WHEREAS, Since 1987, Gianluca Mech has held the title of President
of Gianluca Mech SpA, a family-owned company in Asigliano Veneto which
manufactures and distributes food supplements and diet foods; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Gianluca Mech has developed the galonk
formula of Decottopia and conceived the Global Protocol of the
Tisanoreica Diet; he is also the owner of three international patents;
and
WHEREAS, A Gianluca Mech branded Temporary Store offering his diet
products and herbal food supplements will open in Brooklyn, New York,
his home away from home; and
WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
profession and philosophies, Gianluca Mech was the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades including the 2011 Silver Plate of the Chamber of
Congressmen for his efforts in fighting obesity, a 2012 scroll
commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day, and a Certificate of Merit of
the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles; he also received an award
at the Eastor Charity Ball in Bucharest, Romania; and
WHEREAS, A truly compassionate and kind man, Gianluca Mech was
instrumental in building a home in the L'Abbraccio community of Molini
di Prela, Imperia, for disadvantaged children and young people; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Gianluca Mech has helped raise funds for
cystic fibrosis and epidermolysis bullosa research, and supported
various children's initiatives in Romania, Lebanon, Namibia, Bangladesh
and Ecuador; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Gianluca Mech has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gianluca Mech upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of
Brooklyn, Ltd.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gianluca Mech.
