COMMENDING the Young, Gifted & Black
Entrepreneurial Program upon the occasion of hosting
its 2018 Black Tie Awards Dinner on February 28,
2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor those
enduring organizations which devote their purposeful energies to
improving the quality and dignity of life of those they serve, to
preserving their heritage, and to fostering pride among them; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Program upon the
occasion of hosting its 2018 Black Tie Awards Dinner on Wednesday,
February 28, 2018, at 26 Bridge in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards
Program continues to celebrate Black History Month by identifying
individuals within its networks who make strides toward "The Continued
Pursuit of Success!"; and

WHEREAS, The YGB Entrepreneurial Awards Program is designed for
peer-to-peer acknowledgement of one another's talents, ambition and
achievements toward their shared pursuit of success; and

WHEREAS, The intent of the awards is to acknowledge those unsung
heroes and heroines whose journey towards success can motivate, inspire,
and empower others by highlighting the paths each person has taken
throughout his or her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations that give positive definition to the profile and
disposition of the communities of the State of New York, do so
profoundly strengthen our shared commitment to the exercise of freedom;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Program upon the
occasion of hosting its 2018 Black Tie Awards Dinner on February 28,
2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Program.
