HONORING Peggy Marenghi upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2018 Education
Partner Award by Nassau BOCES
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Peggy Marenghi upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2018 Education Partner Award by Nassau BOCES, to be celebrated on
Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1967, the Board of Cooperative Educational
Services of Nassau County (Nassau BOCES) is the largest BOCES in New
York State, serving 56 school districts; and
WHEREAS, The Education Partner Award recognizes those who have made
a substantial impact on public education in Nassau County, and who share
in BOCES' commitment to enabling students of all ages and abilities to
achieve their maximum potential; Peggy Marenghi is one such individual;
and
WHEREAS, President of the Levittown Board of Education, Levittown
Union Free School District, Peggy Marenghi has been called upon to
contribute her time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Peggy Marenghi has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Levittown Board of Education is in
direct correlation to the efforts of Peggy Marenghi, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the school district and the community it
serves; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Peggy Marenghi has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Peggy Marenghi, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Peggy Marenghi upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2018 Education Partner Award by Nassau BOCES; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Peggy Marenghi.
