COMMENDING Frances DeFilippi Kurpil upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring
Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Frances DeFilippi Kurpil has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Frances
DeFilippi Kurpil upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of Saint Peter's Catholic School in Liberty, New
York, and Liberty High School, Frances DeFilippi Kurpil also attended
Sullivan County Community College, Loch Sheldrake, New York; and

WHEREAS, For over 30 years, Frances DeFilippi Kurpil has worked at
Berkshire Hathaway-Peters Realty in Liberty, New York; she is an
Associate Broker who has made many friends by selling listed properties
and helping buyers find just the right properties for their needs; and

WHEREAS, In the current market, Frances DeFilippi Kurpil's challenge
for each sale is the appraisal by the bank; she tries to find a balance
so buyers and sellers are not disappointed; and

WHEREAS, Committed to her community for many years, Frances
DeFilippi Kurpil has been active in PTA, and served as Secretary for the
Liberty Chamber of Commerce, as well as a founding Board Member and
Secretary of the Liberty Museum; she is also a friend and supporter of
St. Jude Children's Hospital; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of over 60 years,
Sam; her children, Julie, Cynthia, Christina, Jennifer, Michael and
especially her older son, Sam Jr. who passed away in 2015; and her nine
grandchildren, who feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice
in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Frances DeFilippi Kurpil has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Frances DeFilippi Kurpil upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring
Professional Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Frances DeFilippi Kurpil.
