COMMENDING Denise Doring VanBuren upon the
occasion of her designation as a 2018 SUNY New Paltz
School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as
recipient of the Dean's Award of Excellence

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Denise Doring VanBuren upon the occasion of her designation as a
2018 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as
recipient of the Dean's Award of Excellence, to be celebrated at an
Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Grandview in
Poughkeepsie, New York; and

WHEREAS, A woman of singular distinction, Denise Doring VanBuren has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to both her community
and profession and consequently has been selected for this most
prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her esteemed 25-year career at Central
Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Denise Doring VanBuren has served as
an executive overseeing several departments including Public Relations,
Corporation Communications, Economic Development, Marketing, Energy
Efficiency and Governmental Affairs; and

WHEREAS, For her steadfast and unremitting commitment to her
profession, Denise Doring VanBuren was named the 2005 Central Hudson
Executive of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Denise Doring VanBuren is a devoted member of her
community; she holds the title of First Vice President General for the
Daughters of the American Revolution, and serves on the Boards of
numerous regional organizations such as the Dutchess County Regional
Chamber of Commerce, the MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester
Medical Center, and Dutchess Tourism, Inc., where she holds the position
of Chair; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Denise Doring VanBuren has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Denise Doring VanBuren upon the occasion of her designation as a

2018 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as
recipient of the Dean's Award of Excellence; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Denise Doring VanBuren.
