HONORING Jo A. Yudess upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2017 SUNY
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct
Teaching

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of life in the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jo A. Yudess upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2017 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching; and

WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching
recognizes consistently superior teaching at the graduate,
undergraduate, or professional level; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, this illustrious award underscores SUNY's
commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries
of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving
the public; and

WHEREAS, Jo A. Yudess, Lecturer, Center for Studies in Creativity,
has been called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors and has always given of herself
unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Adjunct teachers, such as Jo A. Yudess, are a key component
of the SUNY faculty, providing top-quality instruction and making an
important contribution to academic success and degree completion among
students; and

WHEREAS, Jo A. Yudess, a role model within the SUNY community, is
truly the best of the best, having demonstrated extraordinary dedication
to her students and an exceptional commitment to teaching excellence;
and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Jo A. Yudess, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jo A. Yudess upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2017 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jo A. Yudess.
