HONORING Dr. Anthony Cordaro upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
Floral Park Police Department

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Anthony Cordaro has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Anthony
Cordaro upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Floral Park Police Department, to be celebrated at its Narcan
Training program; and

WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Dr. Anthony Cordaro has always given of
himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Cordaro earned his undergraduate degree from Seton
Hall University and his medical degree from the University of Bologna,
Italy, before completing an internship, residency and fellowship at
Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York; and

WHEREAS, Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine,
Dr. Anthony Cordaro has been practicing internal medicine for 45 years
in Floral Park, New York, and is an attending physician at Winthrop
University Hospital; and

WHEREAS, As Medical Director of the Floral Park Police Department
Opioid Overdose Prevention Program, Dr. Anthony Cordaro has been
instrumental in the success of this vital outreach program, saving
countless lives; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dr. Anthony Cordaro has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Dr. Anthony Cordaro has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Dr. Anthony Cordaro, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Anthony Cordaro upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Floral Park Police Department; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Anthony Cordaro.
