COMMENDING the American Legion Elmont Post No.
1033 upon the occasion of hosting its 38th Annual
Law & Order Night, and paying tribute to the 2018
honorees
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, The 2018 honorees have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the
American Legion Elmont Post No. 1033 upon the occasion of hosting its
38th Annual Law & Order Night and to pay tribute to this year's
honorees, to be celebrated on Tuesday, March 20, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The Law & Order Program honors the unsung heroes of our
lives; the paid and unpaid law officers, firefighters, EMTs and
paramedics, who give unselfishly of themselves everyday; and
WHEREAS, The 2018 honorees include: Mike Corrigan, Nassau County 5th
Precinct Police Officer; Daniel Concannon and Police Officer Robert
Galgano, New York State Troopers; Trooper Faith Ket; Trooper Dillon
Palmer; John Squillace, Elmont Memorial High School; Frank Geritano,
Sewanhaka High School; Anthony Cordani, Alden Terrace School; Cabiria
Montalvo, Clara H Carlson School; Ligia Cordova, Covert Avenue School;
Delores McCallion, Dutch Broadway School; and Teresa Weisbrat, Stewart
Manor School; and
WHEREAS, These outstanding individuals have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, the 2018 honorees have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which these individuals have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the American Legion Elmont Post No. 1033 upon the occasion of
hosting its 38th Annual Law & Order Night, and to pay tribute to this
year's honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned honorees.
