COMMENDING Sister Jacqueline Berrette upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter
on March 17, 2018

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Sister
Jacqueline Berrette upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter to be
celebrated at its 5th Annual Prestigious Women's Gala Awards on
Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New
York; and

WHEREAS, This year's theme is "Destined for Greatness"; Sister
Jacqueline Berrette truly exemplifies this theme for her demonstrated
exemplary work, services, and commitment to the people of her community;
and

WHEREAS, A native of Jeremie, Haiti, Sister Jacqueline Berrette and
her family immigrated to New York in order to find a better life; it was
here that she began her life of service; and

WHEREAS, For over 40 years, Sister Jacqueline Berrette has served
the Haitian community at a local church through her prayer and service
ministry, Christ Est ma victoire/Christ is my victory still strives
today; and

WHEREAS, Sister Jacqueline Berrette has brought to her ministry an
overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting her administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and
professional integrity and dedication; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished woman of God has always given
enlightenment, guidance and wisdom to the many entrusted to her care and
has administered abundantly and unstintingly to the spiritual and
corporal needs of all; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her beloved daughter, who has
all shown her love and support and rejoices in her many achievements;
and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Sister Jacqueline Berrette
has displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a

long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sister Jacqueline Berrette upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau
Chapter on March 17, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sister Jacqueline Berrette.
