HONORING Grand Island Farms, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the
Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of
organizations that generously contribute to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Grand Island Farms, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber
of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 52nd Annual Awards Dinner on April
26, 2018, at the Radisson Grand Island; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce looks for
businesses, organizations, teachers, individuals or someone who has gone
the extra mile and has taken the extra step above and beyond their day
to day responsibilities and jobs, in the Grand Island Community; and

WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Awards are presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy to make Grand Island a better place, and who are the true
foundation and spirit of this great community; and

WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon
which our distinct American heritage is built; and

WHEREAS, Truly deserving of this prestigious award, Grand Island
Farms, Inc. is a cooperative association of family-owned farm
enterprises, passionate about growing its businesses by reclaiming Grand
Island's rich agricultural legacy; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Grand Island Farms, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grand Island Farms, Inc.
