CONGRATULATING Zig Malowicki upon the occasion of
his retirement after 41 years of dedicated service
to The House of the Good Shepherd
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Zig Malowicki upon the occasion of his retirement after 41
years of dedicated service to The House of the Good Shepherd, to be
celebrated with a Retirement Party in his honor on Thursday, May 10,
2018; and
WHEREAS, Zig Malowicki began his illustrious career at The House of
the Good Shepherd on May 16, 1977, as a Social Worker; he immediately
began to climb the ranks and in 1988, he was promoted to Assistant
Executive Director, the esteemed position from which he will officially
retire; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Zig Malowicki has demonstrated his
ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success
and recognition; he has also established trusted relationships with
regulatory bodies, government leaders and community partners; and
WHEREAS, Zig Malowicki has proven success in developing and
implementing strategic plans, creating and sustaining systemic change,
improving and evaluating program designs, developing budgets, and
translating regulations and accreditation standards into opportunities
for quality improvement, all in the context of fiscal responsibility,
consumer satisfaction and effective outcomes; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Zig Malowicki spearheaded the agency's
application, design, budget-development, and start-up of the Residential
Treatment Facility, the organization's first OMH-certified program; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Zig Malowicki led and sustained agency-wide
adoption of Sanctuary Model of care and successful attainment of
certification by the Sanctuary Institute; he also promoted coordination
and integrated delivery of services for children and families in Oneida
County through active participation and leadership roles on a variety of
local advisory groups and councils; and
WHEREAS, With a sincere passion for his profession, Zig Malowicki
has truly changed the lives of countless children and their families;
and
WHEREAS, For more than four decades, Zig Malowicki rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to The House of the Good
Shepherd, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Executive Director, Zig Malowicki served with
loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of duty
and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in his official acts;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Zig Malowicki over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Zig Malowicki upon the occasion of his retirement after 41
years of dedicated service to The House of the Good Shepherd; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Zig Malowicki.
