COMMENDING the Council of Jewish Organizations
Flatbush upon the occasion of hosting its 39th
Annual Community Legislative Breakfast on March 18,
2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Council of Jewish Organizations (COJO) Flatbush upon the
occasion of hosting its 39th Annual Community Legislative Breakfast on
Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Kol Yaakov Hall, Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, COJO Flatbush's Annual Breakfast is a highly prestigious
function for the Southern Brooklyn Jewish Community, attracting over
1,000 guests including the who's who in political and Jewish community
leadership; and

WHEREAS, For more than three decades, this Breakfast has been the
vehicle for the greater community to pay tribute to and honor
legislators and community leaders, as well as outstanding financial,
educational, social service, healthcare and religious institutions that
contribute to the quality of life in its neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, COJO Flatbush is a multi-faceted, non-sectarian, non-profit
social service agency ready to respond to the concerns and needs of its
community; and

WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, COJO Flatbush preserves and
strengthen the quality of life for families in the community by
providing comprehensive programming that assists the less fortunate in
meeting their daily needs for food, sustenance, housing, health care,
social support, and financial security; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, COJO Flatbush has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of COJO Flatbush is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to COJO Flatbush; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are

brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Council of Jewish Organizations Flatbush upon the occasion
of hosting its 39th Annual Community Legislative Breakfast on March 18,
2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Council of Jewish Organizations Flatbush.
